Natural Antiseptics
During cold and flu season we need to be a bit more vigilant about using antiseptics to try to keep those bad bugs at bay. Viruses enter our bodies through our eyes, nose and mouth because we touch our faces with our hands. Our hands pick up viruses by touching infected surfaces.Keep bathrooms, kitchens, and office spaces closer to germ-free by using natural, gentle antiseptic sprays and wipes you can make yourself.
Simply add 30 drops of lavender or rosemary essential oils to one cup of water. Mix well and keep in a handy spray bottle. Use twice daily to spritz surfaces touched by others. Both rosemary and lavender oils were used during WWII as safe and effective antiseptics. Isn't this a great lesson from our past? Another effective natural antiseptic is tea tree oil, which is capable of killing bacteria, viruses, fungi, mold and mildew. It too can be diluted with water and used as a natural household cleanser.
